Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is to upgraded to Android 2.3
Two months ago, Sony Ericsson announced last generation of Android, Xperia X10, would not be upgraded. And at that time the new type of Android 2.3 was just issued, so it resulted that many users contested fiercely. Originally, X10 was not welcomed, giving up its upgrade means leaving fewer hopes to the users.
But unexpectedly, Sony Ericsson changes his mind just yesterday, and he announces that X10 will be offered the upgrade of Android 2.3. Although it is to be offered until the second or third season, it is better to be late than never.
On Friday, Sony Ericsson announces in his company blog that it is planned to upgrade Xperia X10 to Android 2.3 in this second or third season.
Sony Ericsson once said that Xperia X10 won’t continue upgrading after Android 2.1, which caused much bad feeling among users. So he changes his plan and claims to upgrade the prototype, that is to say, all products that have not been renovated before can be upgraded.
In addition, the blog also tells that several users who have already renovated the X10 can be incapable of the upgrade.
Android 2.3 will offer better User Experience and User Windows. According to Sony Ericsson, the project is currently in its phase-out period of designing. But upgrade also means it will lose some functions such as the Windows will be the standard Users Windows in camera, and face recognition and smile shutter will disappear, too.
X10 is the newest and best functioned one in the series of Android. Its high assignments include a 1GHz operator, a four-inch 480×854 touch screen, and a 8 megapixels camera.
But still this news on upgrade really pleases many X10 users.
